I have thankfully arrived Paris safe and sound. As for the plane ride here...arg! Service was bad...I think at one point I had my attendee light on for an hour and still no one showed up. Why? well...let's just say I was not feeling too hot and ginger ale was needed. Getting off the plane..I sneezed about 8 times...hope I didn't catch swine! LOL..or some new virus.
I did meet a very nice guy studying abroad by the name Stephen. We had an empty seat between us. After about 5 minutes of conversation, where I found out he's on a eastern europe tour, we both spent the rest of the ride attempting to sleep. My sleep NEVER came. I am very delirious at the moment. Pretty sure I have aweful bags weighing my eyes down.
It is cold here in Paris. Wasn't expecting that! Can I just say though, as soon as I walked out the airport to catch my shuttle, I could feel myself have a stupid grin on my face. I am pretty sure it was a very cheesy, obnoxious air head looking smile. You know the kind you get when you know you are in Paris! Yes..I'm sure people around me thought I was an idiot. I didn't care..I'm in Paris and that's all that matters! As usual the french are not very nice! But I managed to figure out where I was supposed to go. Met another traveler named Lindsey just as lost as I was. Together we managed to stumble our way around CDG. The ugliest airport by the way. By some miracle, NOT by using my brain..I found my terminal. Fun times. Nothing like getting lost in France...Parle vou ingles? I think?
I'm looking forward to my first chocolate crossaint here in a few minutes. If you've never had one, it is like a little piece of heaven in your mouth. A friend said they expected me to get off the plane and have my first, finest glass of wine. Nope...in my case..the first thing I want to do is stuff my face with chocolate! Nothing like those crossaints. Then I'll work on walking it off..lord knows I'm already a "healthy" girl...don't need the extra calories.
On the plane I watched that shopoholic movie. Have a feeling...I'm going to have to join shopaholics anonymous when I'm back in town. I related to that movie for some odd reason even though I'm not a shopper...this last month..I did go a little nuts.
Thanks again to everyone who came to my BonVoyage dinner my sister randomly threw..and thanks to my parents and a good friend for seeing me off safe at the airport.
Chow my friends. Try not to be too envious and miss me too much. I know I'm awesome..clearly..France has already gotten to my head.
